LEG XIII Aquila between two signa. Babelon (Antonia) 121. Crawford 544/27. CRI 367. RBW 1844. Sydenham 1232a. Struck struck very slightly off center from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, good very fine.

From a European collection, formed before 2005.

This short-lived Antonian legion should not be confused with the celebrated XIII Gemina ('Twin'), one of Caesar's key legions, whose two fictional soldiers Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo formed the main characters of the old HBO TV series 'Rome'.
